Dear Educators,

GreenRetreat invites you and your classes to the GreenRetreat Pumpkin Patch 2009!  Two years ago we began with 17 kids and last October we provided fieldtrips and pumpkins for 1200 local school children!  This year we are scheduling groups as early as possible to accommodate as many children as we possibly can.  It is our goal to provide quality, age-appropriate, outdoor education programs in a safe and fun environment! 

The Basic GreenRetreat Pumpkin Patch Fieldtrip 2009:

·         Dates:  Monday-Friday, September 28 through October 30, 2009

·         Scheduling is based on availability and a first-call-first-serve basis

·         Last minute groups & rain/make-up dates will be scheduled in the first available slot and extended into the first week of November if necessary.

·         GreenRetreat reserves the right to cancel programs the same day due to inclement weather, etc.  Our programs are outdoor events so please remember to dress accordingly!

·         Sessions:  1 ½ -2 hour sessions scheduled at 9am and 12pm.

·         Younger students may be scheduled for shorter fieldtrips. 

·         Older students/groups traveling great distances may request longer programs (for additional fees).

·         Groups wishing to stay late/arrive early for a picnic lunch may do so at no extra cost.  Please note that GreenRetreat provides no supervision for this additional time.

·         Up to 100 students /session is our basic format.  Please advise us if your group/grade/school has more than 100 students who need to come at the same time so we may accommodate you.

·         Groups:  Your classes will be split into groups of approximately 20 students (depending upon size).

·         Each group of 20 must bring at least 2 adult chaperones (minimum one adult per 10 kids).

·         Groups may have students of different ages/abilities.

·         Small schools, special needs populations, and service organizations are welcome!

·         The Program:  $3.00 per CHILD/PARTICIPANT (TEACHERS’ ADMISSION IS FREE)

·         Groups will be rotated through environmental education stations including a HAYRIDE!

·         20 minutes per station is our basic format (for 5 groups).  Length is adjusted by group size.

·         All students/participants will receive a FREE PUMPKIN!

·         Teachers may choose a FREE CLASSROOM PUMPKIN!

·         Chaperones/Teachers may purchase additional pumpkins (prices will be displayed on site).
